The programme of events for the Wilfred Owen festival continues to grow a pace and festival co-ordinator Chris Woods said “It is hoped that the festival will have something for everyone, we have classical and folk music concerts, two dramas, one produced locally and one an Edinburgh Fringe award winner, poetry events, films, some brilliant lectures and much more besides” Local artists of all ages will have the opportunity to showcase their work at a range of venues throughout the town in an Artists Trail which has the theme of War & Conflict – Poetry & Peace. All of the local primary and secondary schools are involved with extracts of their writing and poetry finding its way onto the new life size bronze statue of Wilfred Owen which will be unveiled during the festival. The statue is the work of local sculptor and artist Tim Turner whose work will be cast into bronze at the Castle Fine Arts Foundry in nearby Llanrhaeadr. The events calendar lists all the performance times and venues
Tickets for all the events during the Wilfred Owen festival will go on sale from March 1st and more details will appear shortly.
