Oswestry’s Homefront Heroines.
November 2nd @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 9:00am, repeating until 16th November 2018
This mixed-media exhibition will tell the extraordinary stories of the women of Oswestry and their WWI experiences, as uncovered by Qube’s Homefront Heroines research project.
Funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, the project will ensure the extraordinary stories of local women are not lost forever, and the impact the war had on women’s lives – which is still felt today, is recognised.
We know that the war changed the lives of women in Britain in extraordinary ways but the project will uncover real local stories, bringing them alive. It will look at what roles Oswestry women played on the home front and how they contributed to the war effort.
Would you like to get involved? Qube will be looking for volunteers to help with the huge task of collecting and recording information. Qube is inviting anyone with stories, photos, artefacts and personal testimony’s to share them with the project by getting in touch or by coming along to meet the Project Researcher, Sarah on Fridays from 1pm to 3pm.
